20th Century Architecture. Technical and Cultural Studies

20th Century Architecture. Technical and Cultural Studies is a research group made up of six professors from the Department of Architecture of the University of the Basque Country, who have been working together since 2010. The group has been recognised by the “Call for Grants for EHU/UPV Research Groups” corresponding to 2022. The members have a PhD in Architecture, 5 of them in Architectural Constructions and one in Graphic Expression.

They are teachers in the “Degree in Architecture”, “Degree in Technical Architecture”, “Master’s Degree in Architecture”, “Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation, Restoration and Integral Management of Built Heritage and Existing Constructions” and the “Erasmus Mundus Joint Master on Architectural and Urban Contemporary Heritage”.

The group takes twentieth-century architecture as its object of study and approaches it from different and complementary angles, whether technical or cultural, analysis or intervention, protection or dissemination. This is the purpose of the group’s research activity, which is developed in the form of academic activity, through the supervision of master’s and doctoral theses, or in the form of research projects. Publications are the result of these two lines.
